PROJECT OVERVIEW
Maryland Offshore Wind Project
FEDERAL SCRUTINY: On December 4, 2025, a federal judge rejected a motion filed by BOEM in U.S. District Court to remand its approval of the Construction and Operations Plan (COP) for the Maryland Offshore Wind Project. If granted, the this would have allowed BOEM to issue a new decision regarding approval of the project's COP and potentially deny the project's approval in the future.
On December 15, 2025, a federal judge denied US Wind's motion for a preliminary injunction to deny any action by the Trump Administration to halt the project before the larger lawsuit, brought by Ocean City against the U.S. Department of the Interior, is resolved.
