New England Wind 2
Federal Scrutiny: On September 3rd, the U.S. Department of Interior filed a motion in federal court to remand its approval of New England Wind's Construction and Operations Plan (COP). If granted, this would allow BOEM to reexamine its approval of the project's COP and potentially deny approval in the future.
NOTE: New England Wind 2 was selected to provide power to Massachusetts in September, 2024. The state and project have not finalized their power contract, and the deadline to do so has been extended to June 30, 2025. We have marked New England Wind 2 "Not Contracted," but we will change this if the contract is finalized.
