UPDATE: On September 22, 2026, the New York Attorney General, along with Attorneys General from Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont, filed a lawsuit against the Department of the Interior, the Department of Justice, and Invenergy in the U.S. District Court for Maine. FEDERAL LEASE BUYOUT UPDATE: On June 17, 2026, leaseholder Invenergy signed an agreement with the Department of the Interior to relinquish its previously held lease area, OSC-A 0542, in exchange for a payment of $645 million. As a result, Invenergy will no longer develop Leading Light Wind and the lease area have been marked "Federal Buyout Area."
