FEDERAL SCRUTINY: On September 12, BOEM filed a motion in U.S. District Court to remand its approval of the Construction and Operations Plan (COP) for the Maryland Offshore Wind Project. If granted, the this would allow BOEM to issue a new decision regarding approval of the project's COP and potentially deny the project's approval in the future. On October 15, 2025, US Wind filed a motion in U.S. District Court asking the court for a preliminary injunction to deny any action by the Trump Administration to halt the project before the larger lawsuit, brought by Ocean City against the U.S. Department of the Interior, is resolved.
