NY Bight WEA Lease OCS-A 0539
On August 6, 2026, developer RWE announced that it had reached a settlement with the U.S. Department of Interior to relinquish its three offshore wind lease areas—OCS-A 0539 off the coast of New York and New Jersey, OCS-G 37334 off the coast of Louisiana, and OCS-P 0561 off the coast of Northern California—for a sum of $1.22 billion. As a result, RWE will no longer develop offshore wind projects in these lease areas, and the lease areas have been marked "Withdrawn."
