FEDERAL SCRUTINY: On August 10, 2026, a federal judge granted BOEM's request to remand its approval of Atlantic Shores South. The ruling allows BOEM to reexamine its approval of the project and potentially deny approval in the future.
On September 27, 2025, the Department of Justice informed a federal court that BOEM intends to request a voluntary remand of its approval for Atlantic Shores South. If granted, this request would allow BOEM to reexamine its approval for the project and potentially deny approval in the future.
NOTES: On October 29, 2025, Shell withdrew from Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, a joint venture between Shell and EDF. Shell assigned its 50% stake to EDF, giving EDF full control over the venture.
