NOTE: On Friday, March 13, Vineyard Wind announced that construction of the project is complete.
FEDERAL SCRUTINY: On January 27, a federal judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts stayed the Department of Interior's stop-work order for Vineyard Wind, allowing the project to resume construction. On January 16, 2026, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners had filed a complaint in U.S. District Court challenging the Department of Interior's stop-work order.
On December 22, 2025, the Department of the Interior paused the leases of five offshore wind projects under construction off the East Coast, including Vineyard Wind 1, due to unspecified national security concerns.
