On June 29, 2026, leaseholder Duke Energy signed an agreement with the Department of Interior to relinquish their previously held lease area, OCS-A 0546, in exchange for a payment of $129 million. As a result, Duke Energy will no longer develop offshore wind projects in these lease areas, and their lease areas have been marked "Withdrawn."
