UPDATE: On June 2, 2026, the New York State Attorney General, along with Attorneys General from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont, sued the Department of the Interior, the Department of Justice, and Bluepoint Wind in the U.S. District Court for Maine. FEDERAL LEASE BUYOUT UPDATE: On April 27, 2026, Bluepoint Wind an signed agreement with the Department of the Interior to relinquish their previously held lease area, OCS-A 0537, in exchange for a payment of $765. As a result, Bluepoint Wind will no longer develop an offshore wind project in this lease area, and its lease area has been marked "Federal Buyout Area."
